Ones to watch – Pat Lambie, Coenie Oosthuizen, Robert Ebersohn, & Gerhard van den Heever.

Players like Francois Hougaard, Juan De Jongh, & Dewald Potgieter have recently broken into the Springbok fold but there is still even more good news for Bok fans. These youngsters are also making a name for themselves, and I can’t wait to see them break into the side as well!

Defence, discipline and disaster

Sjoo! What can I say? Yet another early yellow and further suspension for one of our Boks, this time Jaque Fourie was the culprit because of a dangerous tackle, after only 2 minutes nogal! We were on the backfoot against the Aussies from the get go again. If that wasn’t enough, another yellow card was dished out again early on in the second half, just for good measure!

As they say in the classics… Eish

So we were geared for revenge, ready to go out there and hurt the Kiwis for what they did to us in the first game. We wanted our boys to show a little bit of grit in our Vodacom Tri-Nations title defence. We wanted to win it for Madiba’s birthday, for some national pride and all of a sudden, 40 minutes later, we were 13 – 7 down at half time to an All Blacks side that only had 14 and a half men on the field (if you include an uncharacteristic Dan Carter performance) Had Mr. Carter not left his kicking boots at home the scoreline could have been a lot worse!

Move over Zakumi, there’s a new hero in town!

That leopard with the green hair has been dominating our screens for too long
now I reckon, now it is time for ‘Bokkie’ to become a true South African icon like
the team he represents. ‘Bokkie’ is the new Springbok mascot and we want to
know what you okes think?

Apparently from somewhere in the Karoo, this tiny springbok comes across the
famous Green & Gold jersey and once he puts it on, well, watch the video and
tell us if you like him!

Where were we?

So the Boks got their Vodacom Tri-nations campaign off to a not-so-flying start on Saturday morning with a match up against the old enemy – The All Blacks – and boy I hope we caught a wake up. A 32 – 12 defeat is never acceptable for our okes in green & gold.
