I’m slowly starting to remove my Cheetahs hat, I know by now it should have been off already as  we’re not in the competition anymore, but I needed some time to ponder on what happened: What we’ve done well and the  mistakes we’ve made.

So it seems like sanity did prevail to a certain extent since my last blog. I see the Cheetahs have signed Naka Drotske for another 3 years. Not that I’m fighting for Naka, but it’s good for continuity and to build on the success we’ve tasted this year.

To kick off this week I must say well done to the Sharks, I think you know more than anyone else as you got away with murder on Saturday night – even though your second half was a lot better than ours.  I’m not one of those rugby fans that always blames the ref, but Mr Jonker, jo jo jo?

Lead the way

To quote Victor Matfield after Saturday's game  "The Cheetahs have character and is a very proud team, they're always come back and it's never over until the whistle goes after 80 minutes."  Well thanks Victor, good to know, but we lost and even though we lost, we don't want to be known as just players with character thank you very much.

I’m a born and bred Vrystater based in “Pretoria Souf” or Centurion (for the Sharks and Stormers supporters...)

 

Always being Cheetah man – minority rules! The once a year shock defeat makes me love them even more.

 

As a father of 3 rugby over weekends is the only time I have for myself – ever. So I have to make it count!
