Jannie's summary of the final
So it's over okes. Until next year, when the Super 14 will make way for the Super 15. The Bulls triumphed over the Stormers 25 - 17 in the final. And this is how it went down:
In the first half the Bulls walked all over the poor Stormers. It was 16 – 3 at the break. This was due to the kicking of Morne Steyn, definitely one of the main reasons the Bulls have had such a good seaon. His three penalties near the beginning of the match gave the Bulls a 9-0 lead, which was then extended to 16 – 0 after Francois Hougaard side-stepped fullback Joe Pietersen to score an excellent try, which was then converted by Steyn. Peter Grant’s only penalty of the match allowed the Stormers to gain a measly three points before the break.
One can only assume that Allister Coetzee put the fear of god into the poor Stormers at the break, because it was a different team all together we saw in the second half. They fought back bravely, with Bryan Habana living up to his reputation for scoring in Super finals, only this time against the Bulle rather than for them. His cheeky intercept try and then another from replacement flank Pieter Louw just were not enough.
At the final whistle it was 25 – 17, the Bulls taking it despite the Stormers having scored two tries to their one. And even though Peter Grant converted both of these tries, in the end it was the kicking which won it for the Bulle, with Morne Steyn’s six penalties ensuring that the Stormers couldn’t catch up.
Well done to the Bulls for a fitting end to a season of solid success!

Will Australia crumble?
After last weeks thrilling victory over the Aussies in the Vodacom Tri-Nations, South Africa notched up their first points of the competition. To me though, the points were not the only thing we took from the Aussies. We took a massive chunk out of their confidence.
Francois Hougaard’s Mullet
Definition: Business up front, party in the back!
There are stories in the Bible about Samson’s hair giving him superhuman strength, well, could our new scrum half be our very own Samson? This is a post about the (in)famous mullet currently making a name for itself on Francois Hougaard’s pip.
Elton, M-PESA, Boerie & my Bokke jock-strap
So we were running low on the boerie supplies, I was running low on cash supplies, Elton was being lazy (as always) so he sends me money from cell phone to cell phone via Vodacom M-PESA (http://bit.ly/dDl33b). Check out the video explaining it all.
Oh and by the way, what do you guys think of our Haka? Pretty cool huh?
Victor Matfield: A living legend!
So we all know that a lot of the hype around tomorrow’s game at Loftus is focused around Victor Matfield earning his 100th cap for the Bokke. He will join only Percy Montgomery and John Smit (he reached his last weekend at FNB stadium) in reaching this milestone for South Africa. What’s his story though? Here is a short piece on the background of Big Vic, a true living legend.
SA's world record attempt on track
South Africa's youngest Guinness World Record attempt, to fly 90 000 South African flags in one venue at one time, is on track thanks to a capacity crowd at the Springbok-All Blacks Tri-Nations clash on 21 August at FNB Stadium in Soweto. The Keep Flying initiative - together with initiator Draftfcb SA; Vodacom; the International Marketing Council of SA; Lead SA; and SuperSport - had lodged the attempt with Guinness World Records. They must now supply photographic proof, which Guinness will audit before making its pronouncement.
